GOODNESTONE PARK COVID-19 RISK ASSESSMENT
Goodnestone Park includes three separate business venues: Gardens, Café and House. We have assessed the potential hazards for all identifiable risks. These risks could affect employees, garden visitors, outside contractors including volunteers and staying guests.
GARDENS AND CAFÉ
The gardens comprise approx 15 acres of grounds categorised into a formal garden around the house, walled garden and woodland garden. In comparison to the number of visitors (not more than 10,000 pa) the garden is spacious with most areas allowing easy social distancing.
There is a dedicated garden car park that is spacious and allows for social distancing.
Social distancing measures are in place within the Old Dairy Café to protect staff and visitors including screens, hand sanitiser and signs.
Wall sanitisers have been installed within the WC facilities.
THE HOUSE
The house is a large holiday home venue normally let to large groups of up to 28 for celebratory events. It has 12 bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, 4 reception rooms, kitchen, pantry and bootroom.
The property is spacious and well suited to social distancing with seating for 18 eating at 1 m spacing, 12 in the dining room and six in the Breakfast Room, with the same for sitting comfortably in two separate rooms made up of ten in the Drawing Room and eight in the Library. There are two staircases, one for each floor of bedrooms and all bedrooms have en-suite facilities or dedicated bathrooms apart from two sharing one bathroom. There are three separate WC’s on the Ground, 1st and 2nd Floors.
The staff comprises an in-house manager in separate accommodation attached to the house and a housekeeper who travels in on a daily basis. All staff have been issued a checklist for self catering units and equipment needed to clean for CD. Special attention will be given to the cleaning of fabrics where regularly touched by staff and guests. There are sanitisers throughout the house for the use of the guests to ensure that they comply with hygiene rules. The house has a dedicated area of garden around it that is closed off for guests and will keep guests and garden visitors separate.
The linen is sent away for laundering apart from towels which are cleaned and dried on site.
All crockery, saucepans and glass are washed in dishwashers and all surfaces cleaned with suitable detergent before any new guests occupy the house. The house manager will handle all waste removal and transfer of bagged rubbish from house to bin site.
We expect all guests to have familarised themselves with Government Guidelines on Covid rules in a social gathering situation.
We reserve the right to exclude any person(s) who is showing any symptoms that could relate to Covid 19 including high temperature, persistent cough, headache or loss of taste and any person(s) who behave in a way that contravenes the Covid social guidelines. If a person become aware of any of the above infringements they should report the matter immediately to the House Manager who lives on site.
