The gardens are open every day but please note the area immediately around the manor house will be closed to garden visitors when the house is occupied (areas 3, 4, 5 and 6 on map – link below). The rest of the gardens are open including the Walled Gardens and Woodland Garden.

Set in the heart of the Kent countryside, Goodnestone can be reached from London by taking a train to Canterbury and then a 20 minute taxi ride. The journey by car is around 90 minutes and under 30 minutes from Dover.

Set in the heart of the Kent countryside, Goodnestone is 90 minutes from London by car and a 30 minute drive from Dover. Parking is available at the entrance next to the Old Dairy Cafe.
Please note the only vehicular access to the gardens is through the village of Goodnestone – drive past the school, the FitzWalter Arms pub and village church and you will arrive at the car park.

Unfortunately it is not possible to reach the gardens via public transport. The nearest train station is three miles away at Adisham (unstaffed).
Please note the house is only open to the public for pre-booked guided tours on specified days.
The only vehicular access to the gardens is through the village of Goodnestone – drive past the school, the FitzWalter Arms pub and village church and you will arrive at the car park. For satnav directions please use CT3 1PJ.

The Old Dairy Café and the Gift Shop are open to everyone. For groups of 6 or more, booking for the Cafe is recommended.
The House is available for public visits (by appointment only). Details of house tours in 2026 will be published on the website. Alternatively, you can book a stay at Goodnestone Mansion.

Admission tickets to view the gardens are available from the Old Dairy Café.
On days when the Cafe is closed please make use of the Honesty Box. To fully enjoy the gardens, we would suggest you allow a couple of hours. Prices for entry are detailed below. Note that you do not need to book in advance for the gardens.
