The gardens
The gardens are one of the standout filming locations on the estate, with a stunning walled garden, a woodland garden and a parterre area, among other features. The Walled Garden comprises a succession of brick-walled enclosures filled with rose garden areas and many other floral treasures. Considered one of the best views in an English garden, the view through these looks onto the village church.
Inspired by an early 18th-century view of the garden, the parterre area on the east side of the house also provides a wonderful view. Designed by Charlotte Molesworth to mark the millennium, the intricate labyrinthine box hedge parterre is a magnificent homage to the rich history of Goodnestone Park.
